SunCubes Presents Its Optical Power Technology at the International Astronautical Congress in Milan
SunCubes took part in the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Milan, presenting its work on optical power control and SunCubes Lucy to the international space community. With the support of the Italian Trade Agency, SunCubes joined the event with a dedicated stand, creating the opportunity to engage with companies, institutions, researchers, and other stakeholders working across the global space ecosystem.
At IAC, SunCubes presented Lucy, its reconfigurable optical platform designed to precisely direct and control laser energy over distance.
Lucy reflects SunCubes’ broader technological focus: building the control layer of optical power. This includes the pointing, tracking, stabilization, control logic, safety systems, and integration capabilities required to make optical energy usable across static and moving platforms.
Within the space sector, these capabilities can support the development of future optical power links and other high-precision laser-based systems where conventional energy or connectivity architectures become limiting.
The congress provided an important opportunity to discuss these applications with international stakeholders and explore potential collaborations across space infrastructure, autonomous systems, and advanced optical technologies.
Taking part in IAC in Milan also marked an important moment for SunCubes as the company continued expanding the application scope of its technology beyond its initial wireless power developments.
