SunCubes Presents Its Optical Control Technology to the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) Board of Directors

SunCubes presented its company and technology vision to the NATO Innovation Fund Board of Directors at the Arsenale di Venezia, highlighting the potential of high-precision optical control across autonomy, energy, and strategic applications.

Venice, 1 July 2025 – SunCubes presented its technology and company vision to the Board of Directors of the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) during a meeting held at the Arsenale di Venezia.

The presentation provided an opportunity to introduce SunCubes and the technological foundation behind the company: the control layer of optical power.

SunCubes develops the systems, software, control logic, and integration capabilities required to point, track, stabilize, manage, and safely apply laser energy over distance.

The discussion highlighted how this technological foundation can support applications extending beyond wireless energy transmission, including autonomous systems, high-precision optical platforms, resilient infrastructure, and dual-use applications where accurate control of optical energy is a critical system requirement.

“Presenting SunCubes to the NATO Innovation Fund Board was an important moment for us,” said Alberto Chiozzi, CEO and Co-Founder of SunCubes. “It helped us articulate more clearly the broader technological direction behind the company: building the control layer required to make optical systems precise, stable, safe, and integrable across different operational environments.”

For SunCubes, presenting to the NATO Innovation Fund represented an important milestone in the company’s development and an opportunity to engage directly with an institution focused on emerging technologies with strategic and dual-use relevance.

The meeting also reinforced a principle that continues to guide SunCubes today: the value of laser-based systems does not depend only on the optical source itself, but increasingly on the ability to control, integrate, and deploy optical energy reliably in real operating environments.

The Venice presentation marked an early step in that path and in SunCubes’ ambition to build a European technology platform around the control of optical power.
