SunCubes Completes 600-Meter Laser Power Transmission Test at Leonardo Venegono
SunCubes successfully completed a 600-meter static laser power transmission test at Leonardo’s Venegono facilities. Following an initial pointing validation campaign, the team demonstrated energy transmission over the same distance, marking an important step toward dynamic pointing and wireless power delivery.
SunCubes is pleased to share an important update from our latest testing campaign.
In late July, SunCubes reached a key milestone in its product development at Leonardo’s facilities in Venegono. During the first phase of testing, the team successfully validated the static pointing system, reaching a target at a distance of 600 meters.
Following this initial result, SunCubes returned to the Venegono facilities with a more ambitious objective: transmitting energy over at least 600 meters.
After intensive days of work, the SunCubes team successfully transmitted energy over 600 meters in a static configuration using a laser-based system. This result marks an important step in the development of our optical wireless power technology and opens the next phase of the testing campaign: dynamic pointing and energy transmission.
We look forward to continuing this work and advancing SunCubes toward field-ready wireless energy systems.
